WHY PLASTIC BAGS ARE CONSIDERED SUCH A PROBLEM

Most of the plastic bags that we use, we only use them one time and then we do not even recycle them. Plastic waste in the ocean unfortunately gets into the food chain which could harm marine creatures. Another bad thing about plastic bags is that it takes forever for them to rot, which means that the moment that it enters the ocean; it will remain there for a long time.

More than one million sea birds and marine creatures die each year because of ingesting or getting stuck in plastic bags. Plastic bags unfortunately are found everywhere around the world causing major problems and choking up drains.  They take over one hundred years to break down in the environment.

Plastic bags that are found in the ocean have the tendency to make some marine animals chock. These bags can go for example on a turtle's neck which will not allow him to move at all which will make him sink deep down in the ocean
